Mary U. Searing was born on 12 December 1764 in Oyster Bay, Long Island, New York.^1,2,3 She was the daughter of John Searing and Mary Prior.³ Mary U. Searing married Samuel Wood, son of Samuel Wood and Freelove Wright, on 8 August 1782 in Cow Neck, Long Island, New York.^1,4 Mary U. Searing died on 19 June 1855 at age 90.⁵ She is also reported to have died on 14 June 1855 in Oyster Bay, Long Island, New York, at age 90.²
