     King Æthelwulf (of Wessex) was born circa 806 in Wessex, England. He was the son of King Egbert "the Great" (of Wessex) and Redburga (?) King Æthelwulf (of Wessex) married first Osburga (?), daughter of Oslac, Chief Butler (of Wessex) and Mrs-Oslac, Chief Butler (of Wessex), in 830.2,3 King Æthelwulf (of Wessex) married second Queen Judith, daughter of King Charles II "the Bald" (?) and Countess Ermentrude (Irmtrud) (of Orleans).2 King Æthelwulf (of Wessex) died on 13 January 857/58 in Wessex, England, survived by Queen Judith.3 King Æthelwulf (of Wessex) was buried in Stamridge, England.3
     He became the father of King Æthelstan (of Kent) circa 838.3 King Æthelwulf (of Wessex) became the father of Queen Ethelswith (of Mercia) circa 838.3,4 King Æthelwulf (of Wessex) became King of England in 839 replacing King Egbert "the Great" (of Wessex).2 King Æthelwulf (of Wessex) became King of Wessex and Kent in 839 replacing King Egbert "the Great" (of Wessex). Æthelwulf's father King Egbert "the Great" (of Wessex) died on 4 February 838/39 in Wessex, England.5 King Æthelwulf (of Wessex) became the father of King Æthelbald (of England) circa 840.3 King Æthelwulf (of Wessex) became the father of King Æthelberht (of England) say 842?6 King Æthelwulf (of Wessex) became the father of King Æthelred England circa 847.7,3 King Æthelwulf (of Wessex) became the father of King Alfred 'The Great' (of England) in 849.5 Æthelwulf's son King Æthelstan (of Kent) died circa 850.3 The marriage of King Æthelwulf (of Wessex) and Osburga (?) was annulled in 853. King Æthelwulf (of Wessex) was replaced as King of England by King Æthelbald (of England) in 856.2
