King James I "the Conqueror" was born on 1 February 1207 in Montpellier, France.1 He was the son of King Pedro II (of Aragon) and Marie de Pontpellier.1 King James I "the Conqueror" married Princess Yolande, daughter of King Andrew II (of Hungary) and Queen Yolande de Courtenay, on 8 September 1235.1 King James I "the Conqueror" died on 25 July 1276 in Valencia, Spain, at age 69.1 He was buried in Cabret.1
He became King of Aragon.1 King James I "the Conqueror" became the father of Isabella (of Aragon) in 1247.2,1 King James I "the Conqueror" became a widower with the death of his wife, Princess Yolande on 12 October 1251 in Huesca, Spain.1 James I "the Conqueror"'s daughter was married at wedding of Isabella (of Aragon) and King Philip III "the Bold" (of France) on 28 May 1262; by permission of Pope Urban IV.1 James I "the Conqueror"'s daughter Isabella (of Aragon) died on 28 January 1271/72 in Clermont, Auvergne, France.1
