Emperor Louis I 'The Pious' (of the Holy Roman Empire) was born in August 778 in Casseneuil, France.1 He was the son of Emperor Charlemagne (of the Holy Roman Empire) and Hildegard Empress (of the Holy Roman Empire).1 Emperor Louis I 'The Pious' (of the Holy Roman Empire) married Princess Ermengarde (Irmengarde) (of Hesbaye), daughter of TODO, in 798 in France.1 Emperor Louis I 'The Pious' (of the Holy Roman Empire) married Princess Judith (of Bavaria), daughter of Duke Guelph I (Welf I) (of Bavaria) and Hedwig Duchess (of Bavaria), in February 819 in Aix La Chapelle, Austrasia.1 Emperor Louis I 'The Pious' (of the Holy Roman Empire) died on 20 June 840 Near Ingelheim, Rhinehessen, Hesse, at age 61.1 He was buried at Cathbedrale D'aachen, Aachen, Rheinland, Prussia.1
