Peleg Sherman was born in May 1638 in Portsmouth, Newport County, Rhode Island.1,2 He was the son of Philip Sherman and Sarah Odding.2 Peleg Sherman married Elizabeth Lawton, daughter of Thomas Lawton and Elizabeth Salisbury, on 26 July 1657 in Portsmouth, Newport County, Rhode Island.2 Peleg Sherman died in 1719 in Kingstown (later North Kingstown), Washington County, Rhode Island.1
