Alfonso I Henriques was born on 25 July 1110 in Guimaraes, Portugal.1 He was the son of Henry I (of Burgendy) and Teresa (of Castile and Leon). Alfonso I Henriques married Maud (of Savoy), daughter of TODO, in 1146.1 Alfonso I Henriques died on 6 December 1185 in Coimbra at age 75.1 He was buried in Coimbra.1
Alfonso I's father Henry I (of Burgendy) died on 1 November 1112 in Astorga, Galicia, Spain.1 Alfonso I Henriques became King (First) of Portugal between 1128 and 1185.1 Alfonso I's mother Teresa (of Castile and Leon) died on 1 November 1130.1 The famous crusading king who recovered Lisbon from the Moors.1 Alfonso I Henriques became the father of Princess Urraca (?) about 1150.1 Alfonso I Henriques became a widower with the death of his wife, Maud (of Savoy) on 4 December 1157 in Coimbra.1 Alfonso I's daughter was married at wedding of Princess Urraca (?) and King Fernando II (?) in 1164.2 Alfonso I Henriques became Count of Portugal.1
