Margaret was born on 2 June 1202 in Constantinople, Turkey.1 She was the daughter of Emperor Baldwin VI (of Hainault) , IX of Flanders and Marie (of Champagne).1 Margaret married Seigneur Bouchard d'Avesnes, son of Seigneur Jacques d'Avesnes and Adele de Guise, in July 1212.1 Margaret and Seigneur Bouchard d'Avesnes were divorced in 1221.1 Margaret died on 10 February 1280 at age 77.1
Margaret's father Emperor Baldwin VI (of Hainault) , IX of Flanders died on 11 June 1205.1 Margaret became the mother of Seigneur Jean I d'Avesnes on 1 May 1218.1 Margaret's son was married at wedding of Seigneur Jean I d'Avesnes and Adelaide (Alhildis) (of Holland) on 9 October 1246.1 Margaret's son Seigneur Jean I d'Avesnes died on 24 December 1257 in Valenciennes, Nord, France.2,1
