Claude I De Lorraine was born on 20 October 1496 of Joinville, Haute-Marne, France.1 He was the son of Duke Rene II (of Lorraine) and Philippa De Guelders.1 Claude I De Lorraine married Antoinette De Bourbon, daughter of François De Bourbon and Marie De Luxembourg, in 1513.1 Claude I De Lorraine died on 12 April 1550 at age 53.1
Claude I's father Duke Rene II (of Lorraine) died on 10 December 1508.1 Claude I De Lorraine became the father of Princess Marie (of Lorraine-Guise) on 22 November 1515.1 Claude I De Lorraine became the father of Duke Rene (of Elboeuf) on 14 August 1536.1 Claude I's mother Philippa De Guelders died on 25 February 1547.1
