Augustus Taber was born on 3 February 1826 in New Bedford, Bristol County, Massachusetts.1 He was the son of William Congdon Taber and Hannah Tucker Shearman.1,2 Augustus Taber married Anna Haviland Ferris, daughter of John L. Ferris and Jane Underhill, on 15 May 1851 in West Chester, New York.1,2 Augustus Taber died on 6 April 1898 at age 72.2 He was buried at Woodlawn Cemetary, Bronx, New York City, New York.2
