John Tripp was born on 6 February 1609/10 in Northumberland, England.1 He was the son of John Tripp and Isabel Moses. John Tripp married Mary Paine, daughter of Anthony Paine and Alice Potter, about 1639.1 John Tripp died on 28 October 1678 in Portsmouth, Newport County, Rhode Island, at age 68.1
He became the father of Joseph Tripp in 1644.1 John Tripp became the father of Isabel Tripp in 1651.1 John Tripp became the father of James Tripp in 1656.1 John Tripp became the father of Martha Tripp in 1658.1 John's son was married at wedding of Joseph Tripp and Mehitable Fish on 6 August 1667 in Dartmouth, Plymouth County, Massachusetts.1 John's daughter was married at wedding of Isabel Tripp and Samson Sherman on 4 March 1674/75 in Portsmouth, Newport County, Rhode Island.2
