William Hoyt was born on 2 April 1880 in Maine.2,3,4 He was the son of Eli Hoyt Jr and Sarah Elizabeth Berry. William Hoyt married Adelaide Hickcox, daughter of Edward Hickcox and Mrs Margaretta (VanDerveer) Hickcox, on 19 June 1916 at 21 Monticello Ave, Jersey City, New Jersey. William Hoyt married Ella Robinson on 9 June 1950.5 William Hoyt died on 15 September 1970 at age 90.2
He graduated in 1900 from High School. He graduated in 1905 from Colby College, Waterville, Maine.
William's father Eli Hoyt Jr died on 23 January 1918.3
William Hoyt became the father of Ruth Van Derveer Hoyt on 25 July 1922. As of about 1928, William Hoyt and Adelaide Hickcox lived 28 Warham St, Windsor, Hartford, Connecticut, with Ruth Van Derveer Hoyt and Margaretta VanDerveer.6
William Hoyt became a widower with the death of his wife, Adelaide Hickcox on 29 November 1933 at age 41. On 30 November 1933 William Hoyt was mentioned in the obituary of Adelaide Hickcox. William's daughter was married at wedding of Ruth Van Derveer Hoyt and David Shearman Taber III on 29 December 1945 in Winsor, Connecticut.7 Taught
