King Christian III (of Denmark)

King Christian III (of Denmark) was born on 12 August 1503 at Schloss Gottorf, Schleswig-Holstein, Prussia.¹ He was the son of King Frederik I (of Denmark) and Anna Duchess (of Schleswig-Holstein).¹ King Christian III (of Denmark) married Princess Dorothea (of Saxony-Lauenburg), daughter of Duke Magnus I (of Saxony-Lauenburg-Ratzburg) and Princess Katharine (of Brunswick-Wolfenbüttel), on 29 October 1525 in Lauenburg, Schleswig-Holstein, Prussia.¹ King Christian III (of Denmark) died on 1 January 1559 in Koldinghus, Kolding, Vejle, Denmark, at age 55.¹ He was buried at St. Knuds Kirke, Odense, Fyn, Denmark.¹
