.1 He was the son of King Fernando II (?) and Princess Urraca (?)1 King Alfonso IX "el Barboro" (of Leon) married Queen Berengaria (of Castile), daughter of King Alfonso VIII 'The Noble' Sanchez of Castile and Princess Eleanor (of England), in December 1197 in Valladolid, Spain; Later anulled.1 King Alfonso IX "el Barboro" (of Leon) died on 24 September 1230 in Villanueva de Sarria, Castilla, Spain, at age 59.1
