William (of Hesse-Cassel) was born on 24 December 1787 at Schloss Biebrich, Hessen-Nassau, Prussia.1 He was the son of Landgrave Friedrich (of Hesse-Cassel-Rumpenheim) and Princess Karoline Polyxene (of Nassau-Usingen).1 William (of Hesse-Cassel) was christened on 28 December 1787 at Schloss Biebrich, Hessen-Nassau, Prussia.1 He married Princess Charlotte (Louise) (of Denmark), daughter of Prince Frederik (of Denmark & Norway) and Princess Sofie Friederike (of Mecklenburg-Schwerin), in 1810 in Copenhagen, Copenhagen, Denmark.1 William (of Hesse-Cassel) died on 5 September 1867 in Copenhagen, Copenhagen, Denmark, at age 79.1 He was buried on 27 September 1867 in Rumpenheim Kirche, Starkenburg, Hesse-Darmstadt.1
