King Rudolf I (of the Germans) was born on 1 May 1218 at Schloss Limburg, A.d. Rh., Freiburg, Baden.1 He was the son of Count Albrecht IV (of Habsburg) and Countess Hedwige (of Kyburg).1 King Rudolf I (of the Germans) married Countess Gertrude (of Hohenberg), daughter of Count Burkhard III (of Hohenberg) and Countess Mathilde (of Tubingen), in January 1245.1 King Rudolf I (of the Germans) died on 15 July 1291 in Oberpfalz, Bavaria, at age 73.1 He was buried in 1291 in Oberpfalz, Bavaria.1
