Duke Charles IV (of Lorraine) was born on 3 April 1643 in Wien, Wien, Austria.¹ He was the son of Duke Nicolas Francois (of Lorraine) and Princess Claude (of Lorraine).¹ Duke Charles IV (of Lorraine) married Queen Eleonore (of Poland), daughter of Emperor Ferdinand III (of the Holy Roman Empire) and Princess Eleonore (of Rethel And Mantua), on 6 February 1678 in Wiener-Neustadt, Niederoesterreich, Austria.¹ Duke Charles IV (of Lorraine) died on 18 April 1690 in Wels, Oberoesterreich, Austria, at age 47.¹
