Milard's mother Phoebe Millard died in 1831.1 President Milard Filmore became Vice President of the United States under President Zachary Taylor on 4 March 1849 replacing Vice President Geoge M. Dallas. Was never elected to office. Succeeded Zachary Taylor upon his death in 1850.
