     Seigneur Bouchard d'Avesnes was born circa 1180.1 He was the son of Seigneur Jacques d'Avesnes and Adele de Guise. Seigneur Bouchard d'Avesnes married Margaret, daughter of Emperor Baldwin VI (of Hainault) , IX of Flanders and Marie (of Champagne), in July 1212.2 Seigneur Bouchard d'Avesnes and Margaret were divorced in 1221.2 Seigneur Bouchard d'Avesnes died in 1244 in Etraeungt, Nord, France.1 He was buried at Abbey of Clairefontaine.1
     He was titled in 1239 Knighted.1 He was titled Seigneur d'Avesnes and d'Etroen.1 He was titled Archdeacon of Laon.1 He was titled Canon of St. Pierre de Lille.1
