     Augusta (of Hesse-Cassel) was born on 25 July 1797 in Rumpenheim, to, daughter of Landgrave Friedrich (of Hesse-Cassel-Rumpenheim) and Princess Karoline Polyxene (of Nassau-Usingen).1 Augusta (of Hesse-Cassel) was the daughter of Landgrave Friedrich (of Hesse-Cassel-Rumpenheim) and Princess Karoline Polyxene (of Nassau-Usingen).1 Augusta (of Hesse-Cassel) married Duke Adolphus Hanover of Cambridge, son of King George III Hanover of England and Sophia Charlotte (of Mecklenburg-Strelitz), circa 1830 at Buckingham House.1 Augusta (of Hesse-Cassel) died on 6 April 1889 at St. James's Palace, at age 91.1

Updated September 14, 2001.1 She became the mother of George Hanover in 1819.1 Augusta (of Hesse-Cassel) became the mother of Augusta , Duchess Mecklenburg-Strelitz Hanover in 1822.1 Augusta's mother Princess Karoline Polyxene (of Nassau-Usingen) died on 17 August 1823 in Rumpenheim, Starkenburg, Hesse-Darmstadt.1 Augusta (of Hesse-Cassel) became the mother of Mary Adelaide Hanover in 1833.2,1 Augusta's father Landgrave Friedrich (of Hesse-Cassel-Rumpenheim) died on 20 May 1837 in Frankfurt Am Main, Hessen-Nassau, Prussia.1 Augusta (of Hesse-Cassel) became a widow with the death of her husband, Duke Adolphus Hanover of Cambridge on 8 July 1850 at Cambridge House, Piccadilly, at age 76.1 Augusta's daughter was married at wedding of Mary Adelaide Hanover and Duke Frances (of Teck) circa 1865.1,2
