Mary Hanover was born on 5 March 1723 in Leicester House, England.1 She married Landgrave Friedrich II (of Hesse-Cassel), son of Landgrave Wilhelm VIII (of Hesse-Kassel) and Princess Dorothea Wilhelmine (of Saxony-Zeitz), on 19 May 1740 at Chapel Royal St. James Palace, Westminster, Middlesex, England.1 Mary Hanover died on 14 January 1772 in Hanau at age 48.1 She was buried on 1 February 1772 in Hanau, Hessen Nassau, Prussia.1

Updated September 14, 2001.1 She became the mother of Prince Wilhelm (of Hesse-Cassel) on 25 December 1741.1 Mary's son Prince Wilhelm (of Hesse-Cassel) died on 1 June 1742.1 Mary Hanover became the mother of Elector Wilhelm I (Georg) (of Hesse-Kassel) on 3 June 1743.1 Mary Hanover became the mother of Landgrave Karl (of Hesse-Cassel) on 19 December 1744.1 Mary Hanover became the mother of Landgrave Friedrich (of Hesse-Cassel-Rumpenheim) on 11 September 1747.1 Mary's son was married at wedding of Landgrave Karl (of Hesse-Cassel) and Princess Luise (of Denmark & Norway) on 30 August 1766 at Christiansborg Castle, Copenhagen, Copenhagen, Denmark.1
