President Ulysses S. Grant was born on 27 April 1822 in Point Pleasant, Clermont County, Ohio.1 He was the son of Jesse Root Grant and Hannah Simpson.1 President Ulysses S. Grant married Julia Boggs Dent on 22 August 1848 in St Louis, Missouri.1 President Ulysses S. Grant died on 23 July 1885 in Mount McGregor, New York, at age 63.1 He was buried in Grant's Tomb, Riverside Park, New York.1
He became the father of Frederick Dent Grant on 30 May 1850.1 President Ulysses S. Grant became the father of Ulysses Simpson Grant on 22 July 1852.1 President Ulysses S. Grant became the father of Ellen (Nellie) Wrenshall Grant on 4 July 1855.1 President Ulysses S. General Grant was given command of the northern army; accepted General Lee's surrender at Appomattox.1 President Ulysses S. Grant became President of the United States on 4 March 1869 replacing President Andrew Johnson. President Ulysses S. Grant was over Vice President Schuyler Colfax as Vice President of the United States on 4 March 1869. Ulysses S.'s father Jesse Root Grant died in 1873.1 President Ulysses S. Grant was over Vice President Henry Wilson as Vice President of the United States on 4 March 1873. Ulysses S.'s daughter was married at wedding of Ellen (Nellie) Wrenshall Grant and Algernon Charles Frederick Sartoris on 21 May 1874 in White House, Washington, DC.1 Ulysses S.'s son was married at wedding of Frederick Dent Grant and Ida Marie Honore on 20 October 1874 in Chicago, Cook County, Illinois.1
