     Augustus Taber was born on 3 February 1826 in New Bedford, Bristol County, Massachusetts.1 He was the son of William Congdon Taber and Hannah Tucker Shearman.1,2 Augustus Taber married Anna Haviland Ferris, daughter of John L. Ferris and Jane Underhill, on 15 May 1851 in West Chester, New York.1,2 Augustus Taber died on 6 April 1898 at age 72.2 He was buried at Woodlawn Cemetary, Bronx, New York City, New York.2
     He was a bookseller.3 He met for worship at at New Bedford Monthy Meeting, New Bedford, Bristol County, Massachusetts, before 1853.2 He received a certificate at New Bedford Monthy Meeting in January 1853.2 He met for worship at at New York Monthy Meeting in January 1853.2 He witnessed the will of Sarah F. Underhill on 11 February 1882.4
