     David Shearman Taber I was born on 30 July 1840 in New Bedford, Bristol County, Massachusetts.2 He was the son of William Congdon Taber and Hannah Tucker Shearman.2 David Shearman Taber I married Elizabeth Underhill Wood, daughter of William Wood and Mary Sutton Underhill, on 21 October 1869 at the home of William Wood.4,5 David Shearman Taber I died on 31 December 1914 in New York City, New York, at age 74.6,2 He was buried in Woodlawn, New York.6
