     Deacon Samuel Bass was born in 1600 at Saffron, Walden, Essex, England.1,3 He was born on 4 May 1600 at Saffron, Walden, Essex, England.4 He married Ann Saville, daughter of William Saville and Hannah (?), on 25 April 1625 at Saffron, Walden, Essex, England.1,2,3 Deacon Samuel Bass died on 30 December 1694 in Braintree, Norfolk County, Massachusetts.5,3,2 His estate was probated on 31 January 1694/95.6
     He was listed as a member of the church in 1633 in Roxbury, (now Suffolk County), Massachusetts Bay Colony.3 He and Ann Saville immigrated in 1633 to in Roxbury, (now Suffolk County), Massachusetts Bay Colony.1,3 Deacon Samuel Bass was a Yeoman.3 He was listed a freeman on 14 May 1634.3 He was the first deacon of the church of Braintree (for over fifty years) in Braintree, Norfolk County, Massachusetts Bay Colony, before 1644.3 He left a will on 11 May 1694 with heirs John Bass, Thomas Bass and Joseph Bass.6
