     King Jehoiakim was born 634 BC. He was the son of King Josiah and Zebidah (2 Kings 23).1 King Jehoiakim married Nehusta (2 Kings 24), daughter of Elnathan (2 Kings 24).1 King Jehoiakim married Nehusta (2 Kings 24), daughter of Elnathan (2 Kings 24).
     King Jehoiakim became King of Judah 609 BC replacing King Jehoahaz.2 King Jehoiakim was replaced as King of Judah by King Jehoiachin 598 BC.2 Originally named Eliakim ('God has established') until Pharaoh Neco changed his name to Jehoiakim ('Yahweh has established') (2Ki 23).
Ascended to the throne at 25 and reigned in Jerusalem for 11 years (2Ki 23).1 King Jehoiakim was also known as Jeconiah. He immigrated to in Babylon.
