King Edmund II "Ironsides" (of England) was born circa 989 in Wessex, England.1 He was the son of King Ethelred II "the Unready" (of England) and Aelgifu (Elgiva) (of Aelflaed). King Edmund II "Ironsides" (of England) married Ealdgyth (of Northumbria), daughter of Morcar and Eadgyth, in August 1015.2,3 King Edmund II "Ironsides" (of England) died on 30 November 1016 in London, Middlesex, England.4 He was buried of Glastonbury, Somersetshire, England.4
He was titled King of England (Edmund) in April 1016. He became King of England in April 1016 replacing King Ethelred II "the Unready" (of England).3 King Edmund II "Ironsides" (of England) was replaced as King of England by King Canute (of England) in November 1016.5
