     William Matthews was born in March 1755.1 He was the son of Oliver Matthews and Hannah Johns.1 William Matthews married Ann Griffith, daughter of Isaac Griffith and Ann Burson.1 William Matthews married Sarah Brown Widow in 1837.1 William Matthews died on 20 February 1844 in Baltimore County, Maryland, at age 88.1
