John Underhill
     Captain John Underhill was born circa 1596 in Baginton, near Kenilworth, Warwickshire, England.3,7 He was the son of John Underhill and Honor Pawley.6,5,2 Captain John Underhill is also recorded born circa 1609; aged forty-six in deposition 30 july 1655.5 He married Helena de Hooch, daughter of William de Hooch and Govertge Emonts of Gorinchem, on 12 December 1628 in the Kloosterkerk, The Hague, Netherlands.3,5,8 Captain John Underhill married second Elizabeth Feake, daughter of Lt. Robert Feake and Elizabeth Fones, before 1659.3,5 Captain John Underhill died on 21 July 1672 in Killingsworth, Oyster Bay, Long Island.3,5 He was buried in (as now known) The Underhill Burying Ground, Locust Vally, Long Island.9

John's father John Underhill died in 1608.10 Captain John Underhill was a member of the Honorable Artillery Company of London, on 27 September 1614.11 He became the father of Deborah Underhill say 1629.5 Captain John Underhill emmigrated with Honor Pawley and Lettice Underhill on 8 April 1630 from in England, on the Fleet Governor Winthrop's.3,5 Captain John Underhill immigrated with Honor Pawley and Lettice Underhill in 1630 to in Boston, Suffolk County, Massachusetts Bay Colony, on the Fleet Governor Winthrop's.3,5 Captain John Underhill was a soldier on 7 September 1630 in Massachusetts Bay Colony.5 He was admitted to the church in Boston, Suffolk County, Massachusetts Bay Colony, in 1630.5 He was listed a freeman on 18 May 1631 in Massachusetts Bay Colony.5 He took a trip in 1634 in Holland.5 He took a trip in 1638 in England.5 He was a founding member of the Ancient and Honourable Artillery Company of Boston, in 1637/38.11 As of 1638, Captain John Underhill lived in Exeter.5 He was excommunicated for adultery and attempted adultery which he confessed to but not with sufficient repentance on 5 March 1639/40.5 He was readmitted to the church on 3 September 1640.5 As of 1642, Captain John Underhill lived in Stamford.5 He became the father of John Underhill on 11 April 1642.3 Captain John Underhill was requested "for the raising of one hundred soldiers out of the plantation of the English and armed and victualled, to be led by Capt. Underhill against the Indians, now in hostility against the Dutch, to be paid by bills of exchange into Holland" by the General Court of the Jurisdiction of New Haven, Connecticut, on 27 October 1643.12 As of 1644, Captain John Underhill lived in New Amsterdam.5 He was campaign against the Indians in New England.3 He was fought indians in New Amsterdam, in 1649.3 He was fought indians in Long Island, in 1653.3 As of 1654, Captain John Underhill lived in Southold.3,5 He became a widower with the death of his wife, Helena de Hooch in 1658 in Southold, Long Island, New York.3 John's mother Honor Pawley died in 1658.13 As of 1659, Captain John Underhill lived in Setsuket.5 He was Quaker after 1659.3 He became the father of Deborah Underhill on 29 November 1659.5 As of before 1663, Captain John Underhill lived in Oyster Bay.3,5 He became the father of Nathaniel Underhill on 22 February 1663/64.3,5,8 Captain John Underhill became the father of Hannah Underhill on 2 December 1666.5 John's son was married at wedding of John Underhill and Mary Prior on 11 October 1668.5,14 Captain John Underhill became the father of Elizabeth Underhill on 2 July 1669.5 Captain John Underhill left a will 7th Month, 12th day 1671 in Killingsworth, Long Island.15 He became the father of David Underhill in April 1672.5 Captain John Underhill is may be a descendant of Royalty some aspect of royal descent merits further study.6
