Countess Marita Draskovich von Trakostjan

     Countess Marita Draskovich von Trakostjan was born on 8 March 1904 in Vienna, Austria.² She was the daughter of Count Dionys Draskovich von Trakostjan and Princess Julia (of Montenuovo).¹ Countess Marita Draskovich von Trakostjan married Albert von Wittelsbach, son of Rupert von Wittelsbach and Duchess Marie Gabriele (?), on 3 September 1930 at the Priory Church, Schloss Berchtesgarden, Bavaria, Germany; This marriage was not in conformity with the laws of the House of Wittelsbach respecting succession to the Bavarian throne. In Consequence, Marita was not properly styled "Hereditary Princess of Bavaria" until May 18, 1949, when Albert's father Rupert recognised the marriage as dynastic for Bavaria.¹ Countess Marita Draskovich von Trakostjan died on 10 June 1969 in Wildbad Kreuth, Bavaria, Germany, at age 65 survived by Albert von Wittelsbach.¹
     Countess Marita Draskovich von Trakostjan was titled Hereditary Princess of Bavaria on 18 May 1949.¹
