     Edmund Sherman was born in April 1641 in Portsmouth, Newport County, Rhode Island.1 He was the son of Philip Sherman and Sarah Odding.2 Edmund Sherman married Dorcas Hicks, daughter of Samuel Hicks and Lydia Doane, before 1674.2 Edmund Sherman died in 1719 in Dartmouth, Plymouth County, Massachusetts.1
     He was an heir in the will of Philip Sherman dated 31 July 1681.2
