     Count William I "Tete d'Etoupe" of Poitou was born circa 915.1 He married Adela (of Normandy), daughter of Rollo "the Dane" (?) and Poppa de Valois, in 935.1 Count William I "Tete d'Etoupe" of Poitou died on 3 April 963.1
     He was titled Count of Poitou.1 He was titled Duke of Aquitaine (William III).1 He became the father of Count William II "Bras de Fer" of Poitou circa 937.1 Count William I "Tete d'Etoupe" of Poitou was titled Count of Auvergine from 959 to 962.1 He became a widower with the death of his wife, Adela (of Normandy) in 962.2
