     President William Howard Taft was born on 15 September 1857 in Cincinnati, Ohio.1 He was the son of Alphonso Taft and Louisa Maria Torrey.1 President William Howard Taft married Helen (Nellie) Herron on 19 June 1886 in Cincinnati, Ohio.1 President William Howard Taft died on 8 March 1930 in Washington, DC, at age 72.1 He was buried at Arlington Cementary, Arlington County, Virginia.1
      Won the Republican Nomination upon Roosevelts recommendation. Won the 1908 election over William J. Bryan by a popular vote of 7,675,320 to 6,412,294 and an electoral vote of 321 to 162. James S. Sherman was his vice-president. Because of his weight of 332 pounds he was nich-named 'Big Bill'.1 He became President of the United States on 4 March 1909 replacing President Theodore Roosevelt. President William Howard Taft was over Vice President James S. Sherman as Vice President of the United States on 4 March 1909. President William Howard Taft was replaced as President of the United States by President Woodrow Thomas Wilson on 4 March 1913. President William Howard Taft was titled Cheif Justice of the Supreme Court of the United States on 30 June 1921.
