     King Canute (of England) was the son of Sweyn Forkbeard and Gunhilda (of Poland).1 King Canute (of England) married first Elgiva (of Northampton).1 King Canute (of England) married second Princess Emma (of Normandy), daughter of Richard I the Fearless (of Normandy) and Gunnora (Gonnor) de Crepon.
     King Canute (of England) became King of England in November 1016 replacing King Edmund II "Ironsides" (of England).1 King Canute (of England) was replaced as King of England by King Harold Harefoot of England in 1035.1
