     John Searing was born in 1737 in North Hempsted, New York.4 He was the son of John Searing and Elizabeth Raynor.2,3 John Searing married Mary Prior, daughter of Samuel Prior and Mary Powell, on 5 January 1764.3,2 John Searing died on 20 May 1822.2
     He met for worship at at Westbury Monthly Meeting, Westbury, New York.2 He became the father of Mary U. Searing on 12 December 1764.3,4,5 John Searing became the father of John Searing on 11 February 1766.2 John Searing became the father of Amy Searing on 23 February 1768.2 John Searing became the father of Phebe Searing on 6 January 1773.5 John's daughter was married at wedding of Mary U. Searing and Samuel Wood on 8 August 1782 in Cow Neck, Long Island, New York.3,6 John's daughter was married at wedding of Amy Searing and Daniel Mott on 4 May 1786.3,7 John's son was married at wedding of John Searing and Mary Merritt in 1789 at Oblong Monthley Meeting.3,5 John's daughter was married at wedding of Phebe Searing and Thomas Willis on 9 October 1795 in Cow Neck, Long Island, New York.3,8 John's daughter Phebe Searing died on 20 June 1804.9
