     Milard's mother Phoebe Millard died in 1831.1 President Milard Filmore became Vice President of the United States under President Zachary Taylor on 4 March 1849 replacing Vice President Geoge M. Dallas. Was never elected to office. Succeeded Zachary Taylor upon his death in 1850. Ran again unsuccessfully for the presidency in 1856.1 President Milard Filmore became President of the United States on 10 July 1850 replacing President Zachary Taylor.
